My Approach to Coaching

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

  • Education: Many people are not aware of the many things that are affecting our health. It does not take a rocket scientist to understand the importance of eating more fruits and vegetables.  But did you know how you cook and prepare your food and the cookware you use, can affect your health?
  • Accountability: As we work together, having a partner to keep you accountable is the biggest benefit to coaching. We will work together to on your progress, I will support you when you falter and cheer you on when you succeed.  I work with the whole person, take time to listen to your concerns, and ask powerful questions to help motivate you to make changes.
  • Bio-individuality: The concept of bio-individuality is that each person has their own food and lifestyle needs. So, when the experts say, “dairy is good for you” or “fat is unhealthy,” it doesn’t apply to everyone. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you in making positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, personal preferences, and background. Instead of prescribing one fix for all people, I use a personalized, holistic approach that is based on your needs.
  • Essential oils: Nature has provides us with tools to help in our journey towards wellness. Incorporating these gifts from nature in our daily routine can help support the body in its ability to detoxify, to support our immunity, our mood, our digestion and much more.  Used for thousands of years in traditional health practices such as Chinese medicine and Ayurveda.

Health Coaching: a different approach!

A health coach (or health counselor) is a wellness guide and supportive mentor. Together, we’ll work to achieve your goals in areas such as learning to choose and prepare whole foods, understanding food cravings, or balancing sleep and energy.  Understanding the role toxins play in your health can make a difference! Through working with me, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the foods and lifestyle choices that work best for you, and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.

Everything is Food

We are not only fed by food, but by other factors in our lives. Healthy relationships, a healthy and toxic free environment, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity and a spiritual practice are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary.
