Why Cleanse?

Cleanse

Just like you change the oil and filter in your car, and the filters in your home, periodically giving your body a break, and cleaning the filters helps maintain longevity and health. In an ideal world, your body will detoxify itself as it was designed to do. Our liver, kidneys, colon, respiratory system, blood, lymph, and skin are all designed to keep toxins at bay. However, with over 80,000 chemicals in our environment – many of them untested – our bodies are exposed to much more than they were designed to handle. So What is a Toxin? A toxic substance can be potentially harmful to the body. This can range from a short-term symptom to something that affects you more long-term. The tricky thing about toxins is we can go through life not knowing that these substances are affecting us.

Your body is always detoxing through your liver, kidneys, lungs, bowels, and skin. You can aid your body’s detox pathways by adding herbs, supplements and oils, and practices that help stimulate and support the detox organs.

Cleansing is removing certain foods, possibly limiting calories for a period of time.

Some benefits of cleanses can be:

Types of cleanses:

There are many types of cleanses and detoxes out there. The main idea is to break your body from certain substances, such as sugar, dairy, caffeine, wheat, and packaged or processed foods. Many cleanses have you incorporate supplements to help the body release stored toxins. A good cleanse program will include education on what foods to avoid and what environmental toxins to avoid.

Spring and fall are often the preferred times to start a cleanse, but you can do a cleanse any time you feel the need to decrease your toxic load. Some people embark on cleanse to start the new year and clear out all the overindulgence of the holiday. Cleanses can be as short as three-day juice cleanse or a deeper dive lasting 21-30 days.

My favorite cleanse is the doTERRA® 30-day cleanse. It focuses on whole foods. Nutrients to boost whole system wellness, gently stimulate the 5 cleansing organs of the body, especially the liver, manage overgrowth of yeast in the gut and then replenish the system and support healthy cellular function. Ready to learn more about how cleansing may help you regain your vitality let’s chat.

I will be embarking on this cleanse starting April 11 and I would love for you, my dear reader, to join me. This year I am offering two levels of support around cleansing.

The first will be a 30-day program that offers simple changes you can do over the 30 days to begin to learn what lifestyle changes you can make to help decrease the toxic load in your body. You will receive two bonus guides: Five Clean Eating Hacks and Five Gut Healthy Smoothie Recipes. But cleansing is not just about what we put in our mouths so over the 30-day program, you will learn how what we put on our skin and in our environment can affect our health and energy levels. This program is to help bring awareness and help you make simple changes throughout the 30 days.

For those who want to join me and go full-on, I will be guiding you through the 30-day doTerra® program designed in three ten-day phases to help your body cleanse down to the cellular level. To learn more about the importance of cleansing, join me on March 17 at 7:30 to learn the basics of cleansing. Register here.

Can’t make it at that time? I’ll record the presentation. So sign up and I’ll send you the recording.
